Engineered Timber is manufactured from real timber, with a 2-4mm wear layer.

It is a hard wearing, cost effective alternative to solid timber flooring that provides the look and feel of a hardwood timber floor at a lower price.

Engineered timber combines the beauty and natural variation of real timber with the added stability of an engineered core…all at an affordable price

The natural wood has the beauty, naturalness and colour of real timber which means it can be difficult to distinguish from a solid timber floor.

Because of its design and layers, there is usually less expansion and contraction allowing for a tighter fit and whilst no timber can tolerate water laying on it, unlike solid timber floors, engineered wood floors can be more resistant to moisture.

Installation is by the traditional Tongue and Groove or more modern Click Lock system.

Engineered timber is suitable for floating installation or direct stick applications to give the real timber feel and sound when walking on it.

Made of an engineered core of plywood with a layer of hardwood finish fixed to the surface.

Below, where it matters in the event of flooding, the solid wood has been replaced by a hardier wood, a type of high-quality plywood.

On its top, engineered wood flooring is real hardwood. It looks exactly like solid hardwood because that's what it is: real hardwood.

With a typical surface of between 2 mm to 5 mm of natural wood, over the life of the floor a 1mm sanding would be done every 10 to 15 years thus giving your floor an exceptionally long life-span.

With the option of floating on a noise reduction underlay or bonded direct to the concrete there is an option to suit your preference and budget.

As the top finish layer is almost always pre-finished, this means that the floor has already been sanded, stained, and sealed.

As soon as the floor has been laid, you can walk on it.

This makes engineered wood flooring a bit like the best of all worlds.
